About the Event

The 104th AATS Annual Meeting provides the early-career surgeons with an opportunity to practice a simulation surgery on a silicone-molded model of congenital heart disease. The surgical simulation models are the state-of-the-art replicas of various congenital heart diseases produced through 3D modeling of the patients’ CT or MRI images, prototyping with 3D printing and silicone molding of final models.

There will be 9 sessions with 2 spots for each session during the Congress and the interested surgeons need to register for a spot 6 weeks in advance.

The Organizers will provide a simulation model of the attendee’s choice mounted on a chest wall – operating table simulator, basic surgical instrument sets, surgical lights and consumables including needles, threads and patches. The attendees are asked to bring their own equipment such as loupes and special scissors of their preference. The Organizers will accept the early-career surgeons who are accompanied by their own supervisors or assistants for surgical assistance and instructions. The Organizers will also arrange experienced surgical proctors for high level teaching throughout each session. The HOST-CHS sessions will showcase the most advanced technology for surgical simulation of various congenital heart surgical procedures.
